Circuit of Abbeydorney Endurance Trial Debuts This Sunday

Over 30 crews head to North Kerry this Sunday, September 20, for the inaugural Circuit of Abbeydorney Endurance Trial.

Organised by Kerry Motor Club, the event tests navigational accuracy and precision driving across private lanes, farm tracks, and public road links. Action runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with all timed selectives located within a five-kilometre radius of the Abbeydorney GAA Club headquarters.

Local drivers lead the entry. Maurice McElligott and Dean McElligott line up alongside Diarmuid Flynn and Dermot Flynn (Suzuki Swift), while Dylan Flynn and Donal Flynn enter a Nissan Micra.

Toyota Starlets form the bulk of the grid. Kerry entries include Brian Glover (co-driven by Kieran Glover), David O’Mahony (Kieran O’Donoghue), Damien Murhill (Dan Talbot), and Timmy Lynch. Amy Barton and Jodie Barton pair up in another Starlet, with Stephen Moroney (Steven Cremins) and Kieran Martin (Frank Murphy) completing the local Starlet contingent.

Emmet O’Shea (Samuel Behrens) drives a Toyota Yaris, Cian Shiels (Dean Daly) fields a Corolla, and Alan O’Halloran (Sarah Shanahan) runs a VW Polo.

Out-of-county competitors add variety. Trevor O’Callaghan and Susan Smyth bring four-wheel-drive power in a Subaru Impreza, while John Carter and Conor Lennon field a rear-wheel-drive BMW 1 Series.
