Rally of the Lakes Pioneer Mike Marshall to be Honoured by IMRC

Mike Marshall, the founding father of Killarney & District Motor Club and the Rally of the Lakes, will be celebrated for his massive contribution to Irish motorsport at the Irish Motor Racing Club (IMRC) October Lunch.

Marshall served as KDMC’s first secretary upon its inception in November 1977, before taking the reins as the very first Clerk of the Course for the inaugural Rally of the Lakes in December 1979. Remarkably, he held the Clerk of the Course position for nearly a quarter of a century, shaping the Killarney event into one of Europe’s premier tarmac rallies.

Marshall shares top billing at the lunch with Dubliner Ronan McNamee, who famously co-drove Pentti Airikkala to a World Rally Championship victory on the 1989 Lombard RAC Rally in a factory Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. McNamee is also widely known as the co-founder of Irish food brand Cuisine de France.

The event takes place on Wednesday, 7 October at 12:00 PM in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Dublin. Guest speakers include both Marshall and McNamee, with tickets priced at €75 available directly on Eventbrite via Eventbrite.ie./
