RSA’s Free ‘Check It Fits’ Child Car Seat Service Returns to Kerry

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) brings its free, face-to-face child car seat checking service to Kerry this week, with experts on hand to help parents, grandparents, and guardians ensure their child seats are safely installed.
Recent RSA research shows that over half (53%) of child car seats checked nationwide were incorrectly fitted, with nearly a quarter requiring major adjustments to resolve severe safety issues.
No appointment is necessary for the walk-in service, which takes 10 to 15 minutes and runs from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
With today’s Killarney visit at Tesco Deerpark Retail Park already underway (Tuesday, October 6), motorists in Tralee and Listowel can access the service over the coming days:
- Tralee: Wednesday, October 7 — Garvey’s SuperValu, Rock Street, Balloonagh
- Listowel: Thursday, October 8 — Aldi, John B. Keane Road
RSA experts will examine seats, advise on correct installation, and demonstrate proper fitting techniques to ensure maximum protection.
