Motor Club hosting free Club Day this Saturday

Killarney and District Motor Club (KDMC) has announced further details for its upcoming open day taking place at Killarney Racecourse this Saturday, September 19.

Running from 12pm to 4pm, the free event aims to showcase the club, welcome new members, support youth involvement, and demonstrate how locals can get involved in Irish motorsport.
The afternoon features a static vehicle display, panel discussions, and a dedicated children’s area. Organisers have also planned a mock rally stage with practical training sessions covering stage setup, marshalling, and timing procedures.
Club officials are encouraging current members with rally, endurance trial, and autotest cars to bring their vehicles along for the static display to showcase local motorsport talent. Participating cars must arrive at the venue by 10am and will remain on display under marshal supervision until 4pm.
Speaking ahead of the event, KDMC Club Secretary Laura Healy invited members to get involved to support the community gathering.
“Your involvement would really help make Club Day a success. If you can bring your car, please let me know,” Healy said.
Members willing to display their cars or volunteer on the day are asked to contact club officers directly ahead of Saturday morning.
