Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run Celebrates 19 Years with Macroom Base

One of Ireland’s largest gatherings of Opel and Vauxhall enthusiasts takes place next weekend as Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run returns for its 19th edition on Saturday, August 8.

Raising vital funds for Dogs for the Disabled, the popular event moves to a new headquarters at Coolcower House in Macroom, County Cork. Drivers and fans from across Ireland and the UK—including confirmed entries from the Isle of Man, Tyrone, Sligo, Kildare, Kerry, and Cork—will assemble to celebrate all things GM, Opel, Vauxhall, and Bedford.

Registration opens at 9:00 am (€20 per car), with the first award presented at 10:00 am before vehicles depart at 11:00 am. The carefully planned route showcases some of the Southwest’s finest roads and iconic rally stages through Mid-West Cork, Muskerry, and Gaeltacht Mhúscraí.

Crews will tackle scenic stretches past Inchigeela, Lough Allua, Pipe Hill, and Carriganass Castle before taking on the famous Coosane Gap and passing through Béal na Bláth. A midway stop is scheduled at Cronin’s Centra in Ballylickey.

The run finishes back at Coolcower House for an evening barbecue, prizegiving, and live music from Fiona Dinneen. The top honor, the “Overall Car of the Day,” is again sponsored by Opel Ireland.
