Rare 1980s aircraft features at Killarney Car Show

An unusual addition drew attention at last Sunday’s Killarney Valley Vintage and Classic Car Show at the Killarney Racecourse, when an aeroplane was put on display.

Eddie Cronin, a collector of vintage transport and vehicle memorabilia from Barraduff, brought along his AMF Chevvron 2-32 aircraft. The appearance marked a first for a car show in Kerry.
The AMF Chevvron 2-32 is a British-built two-seat microlight motor glider originally designed and developed in the 1980s. Built by AMF Microflight to meet UK microlight and training regulations, the aircraft features a composite airframe constructed from glass fibre, carbon fibre, and Kevlar.
Only 41 units of the aircraft were ever manufactured between 1983 and 1998, making the vehicle a rare sight for the large crowds of motoring and transport enthusiasts in attendance at the racecourse.
