Gardaí appeal to car enthusiasts for information on rare SEAT Leon R

Gardaí are appealing to the public, particularly car enthusiasts in the Kerry and Limerick areas, for information regarding a rare high-performance car involved in a fatal three-car collision.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:00 pm on Monday, 8 June 2026, on the N21 between Abbeyfeale and Newcastle West, County Limerick. A male passenger in his 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver left the scene on foot. A firearm was recovered from the vehicle by investigators at the scene and will undergo technical and ballistic analysis.
Investigating Gardaí have released photos of the vehicle involved, a distinctive SEAT Leon R bearing the registration plate KV12 KHP.
Appeals are being made to anyone who may have spotted this specific car in the Kerry, Limerick, or North Cork areas between Sunday, 7 June, and Monday, 8 June. Investigators are especially keen to speak with business owners or service stations that may have provided accommodation or petrol to the occupants.
Road users with dash-cam footage who were travelling on the N21 between Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale from 11:00 pm to 11:30 pm on Monday night are also urged to come forward.
