Rally fans are in for a treat as not one, but three iconic MG Metro 6R4s have been confirmed for Rally Masters Ireland, the brand-new demonstration-style rally event taking place at Killarney Racecourse on Saturday, September 27.
The event, organised by Killarney and District Motor Club and co-promoted by Motorsport Ireland, will feature a jaw-dropping lineup of 50 legendary cars and drivers.

With 50 days to go, organisers have announced that rallying legends Frank O’Mahony, Denis Biggerstaff, and Willie O’Dwyer will be reunited with the exact MG Metro 6R4s they campaigned during Irish events in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
It’s first time in years that these three specific 6R4s appeared on any event, never mind at the same venue

The Rally Masters Ireland event is much more than just a car show.
It’s a celebration of rallying heritage at a venue steeped in motorsport history.
The Killarney Racecourse hasn’t hosted a competitive stage in years and this year’s event also marks 20 years since Colin McRae famously drove his Ford Escort Mk2 as course car at the 2005 Rally of the Lakes.
All proceeds from the event will support The Jack and Jill Foundation and Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice, adding another layer of significance to a truly special day.
With one car and driver revealed each day for the next 50 days, the countdown is officially on. T-minus 50 and counting – and what a way to start.
