O’Carroll’s Donington Park debut

While most motorcycle racing fans’ attention was focused on the North West 200 last weekend, Anthony O’Carroll was operating off the radar.

He was in Donington Park for an English club event. His sole purpose in attending the event was to gather more signatures on his licence so he can contest the Manx Grand Prix over the famous TT course in August.

He wasn’t in England for results – he was there for finishes and now needs just one more signature to realise his ambition – which will come next week when he takes part in the Southern 100 on the Isle of Man.

Looking back on last weekend he said he was happy with progress.

“Twelfth out of 41 was my best finish but very happy with that, learning a new track and getting faster every session, first short circuit meeting of the year for me also so just playing with suspension setup and getting closer to what we want, a bit more adjustments to be done heavier spring in the front and bits that I didn’t have with me,” he said.

“But overall very successful weekend against a very competitive field.”
