Kerry juniors win two different rally championships this season

There was a double celebration for two Kerry Junior drivers following last Sunday’s Kerry Winter Rally.

Class winner Jason Farrell did enough to be crowned the Moriarty’s Centra Kingdom of Kerry Junior rally champion for 2022.

He will be presented with his county medal, subject to ratification by championship organisers, at the championship’s prize giving in the Anvil Bar on December 30.

The rally was also a counting round of the Southern 4 Rally championship for 2022.

Despite Farrell’s victory, on an at times wet and wild afternoon in North Kerry, his third win of the Southern 4 season, it was not enough for him to claim the Southern 4 Junior title as well.

Instead, it is Gary Healy and Gearoid Moynihan who are the 2022 Junior Champions, and with it claim a raft of Prize Fund packages in what was the Clonkeen man’s first full season of rallying.

Meanwhile, Farrell took second place in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship junior category.
