This weekend sees the Tralee Deja Vu
Craig Breen is top seed, Kris Meeke is there too
Some drivers will tour, some more will be trying
The oldest man there is the great Dick O’Brien
He’s 88 now, so Dick is no pup
But one thing for sure is he never gives up
He started out in the fifties, he’s sat in with them all
And on every event, Dick always had a ball
When navigating for Billy it was foot to the floor
His first rally with Bones was in seventy four
It was a night rally run by Kerry MC
Which started and finished in the town of Tralee.
His long time driver was the late Demi Fitz
When they finished the Scottish, their Twin Cam was in bits
He did many Circuits and one RAC,
On the Welsh Rally with Bones, their entry was free.
He Clerked many events including Corks Twenty Hour
His self-built Firbog Special had Ford side valve power
In Vernon Mount he helped out with the Motorbike Scrambles
With wife Catherine, Dick lives in a house called The Shambles.
Dick has been called Grandad for forty five years
Amongst rally navigators Dick had very few peers
It no exaggeration to call him a Great
This weekend Dick and Bones are Number Twenty Eight.
