Muckross co-driver Noel O’Sullivan has secured a late drive with one of the Rally of the Lakes hot favourites.
O’Sullivan has enjoyed an international career in recent years, only last weekend he won the opening round of the British Rally Championship alongside Osian Pryce in a Volkswagen Polo.

Indeed, the pair finished runner-up in last year’s BRC. Prior to that O’Sullivan was on the World Rally Championship trail with Northern Ireland’s Jon Armstrong.
As a result one of the area’s top co-drivers has not competed on his home event since 2017 when he finished fourth alongside Sam Moffett in a Ford Fiesta.
That will change on Saturday morning. He has been signed up by Callum Devine, the third seed for the event. Devine finished third overall in Killarney the last time the event ran in 2019 in a Ford Fiesta. This time they will drive a similar Polo to the one O’Sullivan competes in on BRC rounds.
“It is so long I will need a map to get around,” he joked. “Anyone in the top four of five can win this – who knows? I am just excited to get a chance to compete at home. It’s been a while.
