Rally of the Lakes PRO Ivan Hurley on Sunday’s launch and photo gallery by Eamonn Keogh
We had a fantastic day yesterday at the launch of the 2022 International Rally of the Lakes, in association with Rentokil Initial, Aherns.ie Motor Group, The Gleneagle Hotel and Ordnance Survey Ireland.
It was great to see so many members of the press in attendance on the day, where we heard speeches from the Mayor of Killarney Cllr Marie Maloney, Michael Healy Ray TD, Danny Healy Rae TD, World Rally Co-Driver and Killarney man Paul Nagle, Patrick O Donoghue (Gleneagle Hotel), Michael O Mahoney (Rentokil Initial), Paul Ahern (Aherns.ie Motor Group), Killarney and District Motor Club Chairman Dan Keane, Clerk of the Course Darren McCormick as well as representees from the various championships that the rally is a counting round of.
The launch is often where we first release an ‘unseeded’ entry list, listing out all competitors that have entered the rally to date and in no particular order. This list is also attached for your viewing. We have hit 200 entries for the event, the highest seen in recent years.
I have attached a group photo for your use, please credit photographer Eamon Keogh when using the photograph in your publication. The caption for the photo: A large turnout on Sunday last for the launch of the 2022 International Rally of the Lakes. Front L-R – Patrick O Donoghue (Gleneagle Group), Darren McCormick (Rally COC), Michael O Mahoney (Rentokil Initial), Dan Keane (KDMC Chairman), Paul Ahern (Aherns.ie Motor Group)
We are now just 2 weeks out from the start of the rally so if you require any further information, quotes or interviews please do not hesitate to contact me at any stage.
Thanks for all your support of the event to date.
Ivan Hurley
