Mike’s Mondello Marshal Training
Killarney-based motorcycle racing marshal Mike Kissane attended a pre-season training day at Mondello Park on Sunday.
The Dunlop Masters Irish Superbike Championship’s official test weekend took place on a Saturday and Sunday.
It was the perfect chance to give race marshals training and Kerry’s Mike Kissane took part in the session.
“There was a good turnout for the marshals training day today, thank you to everyone who came down and to everyone who helped out with the training,” said a Mondello Track team statement.

“There was a lot covered, flags and incident handling for cars and bikes as well as radio communication and paperwork were done in the classroom. This was followed by a talk from Paul from the Rescue unit in the paddock.
“The afternoon was spent putting out car fires with Bernard. It really helps doing these drills for real rather than just sitting looking at a screen.
“It was then back to the paddock to get a close up look at a sidecar and a talk from Mark.
We had good input from the ‘tower’ from both cars and bikes and we are looking forward to working together during the season.”
