Killarney and District Motor Club will present €58,293 to the Irish Community Air Ambulance at a special function in the River Island Hotel in Castleisland tonight (Saturday).
Monies raised during the club’s Forestry Rally in February will go directly to the Irish Community Air Ambulance.

Clerk of the course Dermot Healy proposed that KDMC run this event as a fundraiser for the Community Air Ambulance.
“I am delighted and humbled by the overwhelming support from KDMC club members, neighbouring clubs, the Castleisland community and event sponsors and all those other people who gave such extraordinary support to this wonderful cause that has generated so much money for the Air Ambulance,” said Dermot.
“The team that rallied in behind me helping to put together this event seamlessly in 6 short weeks, were simply amazing”
“If it proves one thing to me, we have still an amazing amount of goodwill in this country that we can be proud of.”
Commenting on the large sum, club chairman Dan Keane said “I am very proud of the club for having to be able to do this for a very worthy cause in the air ambulance. It is a cause very close to my own heart as it provides a fantastic service.”
KDMC received an outstanding entry of 99 crews which included a record entry of 15 Junior 1000 crews.
Due to the success of this fundraising event, KDMC have applied to Motorsport Ireland to run this event again in February 2023.
