A Rathmore man is traveling 17,445km to compete on the West Cork Rally.
Jack Kelleher has been living in Sydney Australia for the last number of years.
His partner Aoife O’Donoghue is a member of the well-known Killarney rally family.
Brother Colin is top local driver and won the Escort Rally Special in Belgium last September.

Her father Kevin is another well-known local rally driver and has entered this weekend’s Clonakilty based rally in his BMW M3.
Jack, who is a brother of Killarney Councilor and Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce president Niall has timed his entry in the West Cork Rally with an extended family holiday at home.
He arrived in Kerry over the weekend when preparations for the rally began in earnest.
He will drive a Honda Civic in the event and will be co-driven by Colin.
“That is the plan, anyway,” said Colin. “I said I would sit in if he was stuck or if he could not get someone to do it but at this stage it is looking likely I am going.”
It is not the first time Jack came from the other side of the world to contest a rally. He competed on the 2019 Killarney Historic Rally too.
