What a year Lorcan Hanafin has in store – from Imola to Hockenheim

Lorcan Hanifan is in for a busy year after securing drives in both the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland this year.

He has been signed by Swiss team Fach Auto Tech, former champions in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

He will tackle as many as 16 race meetings between late April and October

The Mobil-backed series runs alongside some of the most prestigious European rounds of the Formula One World Championship so he will be racing at such venues as Monaco, Imola and Spa.

The German championship runs alongside the ADAC Masters and takes in tracks like the Nurburgring.

The team announced its driver lineup this week.

“With Lorcan Hanafin, the team has brought one of the shooting stars from the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain onboard. The 19-year-old already turned heads there in 2021 with second place in the overall championship. At the Porsche Junior selection in Aragon in Spain, Hanafin once again showed his talent. In addition to the Supercup, the youngster will also take the wheel for FACH AUTO TECH in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland,” said a team statement.

Hanafin is looking forward to the year ahead.

“The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland is a difficult series, pair that with Mobil 1 Supercup and you have a very busy year”,  he said,“In my opinion, the Supercup is one of the most challenging championships in the world. This makes me even more excited to get the season started at the end of April!”
