Sam Moffett enters Killarney Forestry Rally… as a co-driver!

Sam Moffett will continue his co-driving career on next month’s Killarney Forestry.

The elder of the Moffett brothers is taking a step back from driving commitments this year.

He has not entered next weekend’s Galway International although brother Josh has.

On the return to rallying last year, Sam won the Kerry Winter Rally in his brother’s Hyundai i20 R5. He also finished sixth in the Ulster Rally a week later.

But they were not his last outings. He competed on the Boggeragh Christmas Rallysprint run by Cork Motor Club over the Christmas period.

On that occasion, he was co-driver to a third Moffett brother –  Tommy – who competes in the Junior 1000 category in a Toyota Aygo. They were leading their class until a last-stage off-road excursion cost several minutes and ended up third.

This is the crew that has entered the February 20 Forestry Rally organised by Killarney and District Motor Club.

The event is being run to raise funds for Irish Community Air Ambulance. It is being run thanks to support from C.Wharton Toll Hire and Castleisland Tyre Centre.

Please note – the official entry has not yet been released and this story is based on entries received and not the final entry list.
