Emmet O’Grady has secured a late deal to contest this weekend’s British Superbike Championship finale at Brands Hatch with the Wilson Craig Racing team.
Riding a TAG Honda Fireblade, the Tralee-man finished fifth in the Irish Superbike Championship on Sunday but while most local riders are preparing to put their bikes in the garage for the winter, O’Grady is preparing for a Supersport race at the famed Kent track.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to ride British Championship again, and my aim is to stay happy,” he said. “I want to mention a big thanks to all my sponsors that have made this happen, especially TAG Team owner Thomas Fitzsimmons for urging me to go and do it and enjoy the experience. I have good British Championship knowledge and I am really looking forward to being part of the Wilson Craig Racing Team at Brands Hatch.”
Meanwhile, Anthony O’Carroll is also heading to the UK this weekend. He is contesting the final round of the Thundersports UK series at Cadwell Park. He won his first motorcycle racing trophy at Mondello over the weekend taking third place in one of his Supersport Cup races on Sunday.
