Expect a change of car for the two last rallies in County Kerry in November…!

16 Daniel Cronin/Shane Buckley Ford Fiesta RC2 8TH overall

“We struggled with a small issue on the car all day and also struggled with setup.

“With hindsight, we probably over-estimated the bumps and underestimated how well the car would handle them.

“Still happy with our result and looking forward to Wexford.”

51 Dave Slattery/Denis Coffey Ford Escort DNF

“The first loop of stages were slippery and very slippery at junctions. We were very happy after the first two stages. It started rain heavy on the way to stage three which made it slipper again with a share of standing water.

“Stage four I got caught out on a ‘3 left 3 right’ which put us on the roof. Denis and I are ok,  a few panels and away we go again.

“The Donegal Harvest is one just to forget but on the other hand went there to test a new engine from Stafford and that is all there. We can’t  wait for the next day.

“Kerry might be a bit close to Killarney but we will just have to see.”

56 Denis Hickey/ Sean Nolan Ford Escort Mk2  50th overall 8th in class

“Good to get back, nearly two years since we were out. It was all about seat time and getting to grips with the new car, COVID hampered that progress, we will concentrate on building speed and pace, but the car ran like a dream. Next stop Banna before the local one – The Killarney Historic.

59 John Lynch/Damien Fleming Skoda Fabia RC2 38th overall

It was the Dublin-based Killcummin man’s first time sitting with Laois man Lynch and his first time in a Skoda Fabia R5.

88 Tom Spence /Ger Somers Ford Escort DNF

“Shite weekend: We broke driveshaft on stage four, going ok up to then considering it was our first day out since before COVID.

128 Denis Nagle/ Donagh Crowley Nissan Micra 80th overall and 1st in class

“It was our first time ever in Donegal,

“The stages were a big culture shock to us, never before experienced stages as tough and technical as them but definitely some of the most enjoyable roads I’ve ever driven on,

“The car wasn’t ideally set up for the characteristics of the roads so will have to be better prepared next time we travel up.

“Couldn’t get over how hot the pace was up there right throughout the field,

“Was delighted to get to the finish without any trouble and the car didn’t miss a beat all day, getting the class win was also the icing on the cake.

“Thanks to everyone that made being there possible for us and to all my sponsors for the support.

“Next event for us is Banna on November 7.”
