Mick Smith returned to rallying on Sunday – his first event since the 2019 Killarney Historic Rally.
The Killarney man, who is also chairman of London Irish Motor Club, tackled the Forge Grage Mewla Rally held on the daunting military ranges on Epynt.
“I heard some terrifying stories of this event so after not competing in a proper rally since Killarney First 3 stages were probably a bit over cautious but once I got used to my new co driver and trusted the notes we got along a bit quicker.
“We caught and passed a couple of regular Epynt guys and pleased to say finished the event with no dramas and a really good improvement on seeding. Many thanks to Neil Harrison for his patience and brilliant notes and thanks to Mike Horsburgh for helping on service and the grub.”
