Enduro Pro-Ride championship “in shreds” after dramatic weekend in Derry – video

Colin O’Donoghue’s EnduroPro Ride championship has been “ripped to shreds” after Colin O’Donoghue and all of his title rivals hit trouble at the third round of the championship in Derry last weekend.

Ahead of this weekend’s event at Sherrards Pit near Limivady, County Derry,the Killarney-based KTM EXC 300 was in second place in the Expert category, behind leader Jake Duggan from Clonmel.

However, O’Donoghue go caught up in a first lap, second corner melee and came off his bike.

“Whatever way I fell sprained my thumb and hand and broke two spokes on the bike,” he said. “I had to pull into spray stuff on my thumb to numb the pain and the boys lapped me. But I made up about five places on the last two laps.”

He finished ninth, he worst placing of the season so far.

“The championship points have not been totted up yet but it’s probably ripped to shreds,” he added.

Championship leader Duggan finished seventh, while third-placed Ryan McGoldrick finished ninth.

“It’s going to be interesting for the last two rounds,” he said.
