Samantha Martin to race at this weekend’s Dunlop Masters season opener with support from Maynooth Cycles

Samantha Martin will race at this weekend’s opening meeting of the 2021 Dunlop Masters Championship with support from Maynooth Cycles.

The Kildare-based motorcycle supply firm is run by Superbike racer Mark Downes.

He is the Irish importer for Helite Airbag Vests and has loaned the Tarbert-based racer one of the company’s safety vests for this weekend.

Martin will race in the Production Twins class onboard her Suzuki SV650.

Although she made her race debut in March 2019, this is her first year committing to entire Dunlop Masters series.

She also hopes to take in a few short circuit races in Northern Ireland over the season.

“I just want to say a massive thank you to Mark Downes of Maynooth Cycles for offering his support in the form of a Helite Airbag Vest this weekend. His support is greatly appreciated and I can’t wait to get out and tackle my first race onboard the Suzuki SV650 in the Production Twins class,” she told Kerry Motorsport News.

Martin is the second Kerry rider to get support from Maynooth Cycles.

Anthony O’Carroll will use his usual Kawaski ZX 6R for the short circuit season, but he has also struck a deal with Downes to ride his Suzuki SV 650 on two road racing events that will run in Northern Ireland later this summer.
