Rallying is back: co-driver Sean Collins to contest Saturday’s Bishopscourt Stages Rally in Down

A Kerryman has secured an entry to the first rally to run in Ireland in over 15 months.

Ballynahinch and District Motor Club will run its Bishopscourt Stages at the County Down airfield on Saturday June 19 – the opening round of the Northern Ireland Rally Championship – and Rathmore based co-driver Sean Collins will compete on the event.

Collins, best known for guiding Colin O’Donoghue to victory on the 2019 Killarney Historic Rally, will codrive for Ballydaly’s Colin Moynihan in a newly acquired and refurbished Ford Escort Mk2.

“It is badly overdue,” said Collins, “We are only going for the spin around and to dust off the cobwebs.”

Moynihan’s brother Liam is also on the entry list and will co-drive for Stephen Wright in a Ford Fiesta R5.
