Nagle and Breen confirmed for Rally Croatia
Paul Nagle and Craig Breen will contest next month’s Rally Croatia – the third round of the World Rally Championship – with Hyundai Motorsport.
Breen and Nagle are sharing a third car with Spaniard Dani Sordo for the 2021 season with confirmation of the rota happening on an event-by-event basis.
The Irish crew learned on Tuesday this week that they will join teammates Ott Tänak /Martin Järveoja and Thierry Neuville /Martijn Wydaeghe in the three-car line-up for the new for 2021 rally.
While Breen and Nagle are the most-recent (2019) Irish Tarmac Rally Champions, this will be the first time that they will drive a Hyundai i20 World Rally Car on tarmac as all previous outings have been on snow or gravel.
However ,on their last two World Rally Championship events they have finished fourth (Artic Rally Finland) and second (Rally Estonia 2020).
Breen’s last WRC event on tarmac was Rally Spain in 2018 while Nagle’s last tarmac outing at this level was in Corsica (alongside Kris Meeke) the same year.
“So happy to be back with Hyundai Motorsport for Croatia Rally in just under a month’s time,” said Breen.

“Those that know me know just how much I love the buzz of driving a World Rally Car on tarmac, and I really can’t wait for it. It’s been nearly three years since my last full tarmac event in a WRC car, but I really can’t wait to get going,”
Rally Croatia runs from April 22 to 25 and is based in the city of Zagreb in the northwest of the country. Stages will run close to the Slovenian border.
