Third overall ahead of day two of Rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio
Ahead of the second day of the Rally Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio Craig Breen holds third place.
The second leg Sparco Italian Rally Championship event gets underway around 8am Irish and ahead lie nine special stages in the Tuscanny region.
Interestingly, Breen has registered for the Italian series, his third place on Friday evening’s PowerStage, run over roads on the Il Ciocco estate, earned him two championship points.
The Hyundai Italia-backed i20 R5 Irish driver finished 56 hundredths of a second behind multiple Italian champion Paolo Andreucci. The Skoda Fabia R5 driver is chasing his ninth win on this classic Italian rally and took maximum championship points on the short stage.
Breen’s Hyundai Motorsport WRC teammate Thierry Neuville (also driving an i20 R5) leads the rally overnight while Breen starts today’s three-by-three loop ahead of reigning Italian Tarmac Rally champion Stefano Albertini in his Skoda Fabia R5
The rally concludes at 5pm Irish time.
