Coyne targets British National Superstock 600 championship after bike upgrade

Farranfore-based Kevin Coyne is set to graduate to British National Superstock 600after a full season competing in the British Junior Supersport championship last season.

He has acquired a Kawasaki Ninja 636 for the year ahead and will test the bike in Spain in March. His plan is to contest the first rounds of the Dunlop Masters in Mondello Park before basing the bike in England.  The opening round of the British Super Bike championship is scheduled for Oulton Park on May 1 to 3, allowing Coyne the chance to race in Ireland at least twice before heading overseas.

“It is a big step up from this year,” his father Mark said, “But it is all part of a two-year plan. Next year is all about learning the new bike and learning the tracks Kevin has not raced on before ahead of a bigger plan in 2022.”
