Kenmare co-driver leads Australian rally series

A Kenmare co-driver has moved into the lead of the Western Australian Clubman Series Rally Championship with just one round to go.

Murish O’Connell guided Zimbabwean driver Glenn Cawood to second place on Saturday’s Karri Rally in Nyaump, around 300km south of Perth.

The Mitsubishi Lancer crew took two stage wins on the four-stage rally but had to settle for second behind rivals Alex and Lachlan White in their Nissan Silvia.

“They were very fast stages, ”said O’Connell, “We were happy with second overall and points for the championship.”
The final round, the Safari Darling Rally is scheduled for November 7
