Killarney native Mick Smith had the unique distinction of being the first Kerryman to compete on a rally as a driver since February this year.
Smith, the long-serving chairman of London Irish Motor Club, competed on Sunday’s CAR-nival Rally in Oxfordshire.
It is one of the first rally events to run in England since COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed in that country. Smith used the same Chrysler Avenger that he drove on last November’s Rentokil-Initial Killarney Historic Rally and finished 57th out of over 80 starters.
