REVISED 2020 CALENDAR – ALL EVENTS MAYBE SUBJECT TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS AND INCLUSION IN CALENDAR DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL RUN – CHECK WITH ORGANISING CLUBS BEFORE COMMITTING
Motorsport Ireland has released a revised calendar of events that could run between now and the end of the year.
The first two events on the new calendar is a midweek Autotest which was due to take place on Wednesday July 22 and ran by the Dublin-based Trial Drivers Club and a two-day race meeting at Mondello Park is scheduled for this weekend.
While inclusion in the calendar is no certainty that events will run – that will depend on COVID-19 based restrictions that may in place locally or nationally at the time of any event – Killarney and District Motor Club were successful in its bid to move the date of the Rentokil-Initial Killarney Historic Rally to November 28 as opposed to its previous December 5 date.
Just two other rallies have been allocated dates for the remainder of the year. The Wexford Rally has been allocated its intended date of September 5 and 6 while Carrick-on-Suir Motor Club has secured a date for a rally on October 11.
KDMC has also secured a date for an Autocross event on December 29. This traditional Christmas event last ran in 2018 after track flooding caused the last-minute cancelation of last year’s event at Tralee Racecourse.
