The Irish National Rally Championship will retain its Triton Showers sponsorship for 2021 thanks to generosity of company boss Kevin Barrett who has strong Kerry connections.
The Maynooth based Barrett family have been long time supporters of Irish rallying. Kevin and his brother Frank, both accomplished rally drivers, can trace their heritage to Causeway, the birth village of their late father Tony.
This year was due to be Triton Shower’s last season as title sponsor but only one round of the series, The Mayo Rally took place.
“Following from a year of cancellations and challenges it is with delight we can announce that Triton Showers will continue to headline and support the National Rally Championship into 2021,” a championship spokesperson said. “It is great to have the loyal support from a great sponsor and competitor Kevin Barrett.”
The Triton Championship committee has decided that the series will maintain the normal rotation of rounds for 2021 and, as a result, the Rose Hotel Circuit of Kerry will not be included in the championship until 2022.
