Galway International Rally
Local competitors on the Galway International Rally which gets underway later today include Shane Buckley and Keith McCarthy.
Buckley will co-drive for Daniel Cronin and will be hoping for better luck than their last outing. The Ford Fiesta R5 team led the Cork ‘20’ International Rally last October but crashed out on the second stage of day two. McCarthy is co-driving for Neil Phelan in a Ford Escort Mk2.
In the Historic Rally section Tommy Commane is on pacenote duty for Philip McKibbin in a Ford Escort Mk1 while Elaine Ni She is alongside Welsh driver Berian Richards in another Escort.
The rally’s first stage is scheduled for 9.10 am near Tynagh.
