Organisers of the annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle have praised the volunteer marshals from Killarney and District Motor Club who helped organise this year’s event.
The 36thrunning of the 175km race raised over €1,112,000 for worthy causes all over Kerry and beyond.
The event relies on 1,200 volunteers to keep the 6,000 participants safe. Members of Killarney and District Motor Club took charge of the final section between Moll’s Gap and the entrance to Muckross House during this year’s event.
Last Friday night event organiser hosted their annual cheque presentation at the Gleneagle Hotel where they acknowledged the contribution volunteers make to the annual cycle.
“We could not do it without our volunteers,” said PRO Cathal Walshe. “The contribution the motor club makes to our event is invaluable.”
