Bandon co-driver Daniel Seaman guides David Travers to national title success and Billy Coleman Award nomination in Tipperary
Bandon-based co-driver Daniel Seaman helped Kilkenny driver David Travers secure the Motorsport Ireland National Class 2A Championship title and a prestigious Billy Coleman Award nomination at the STS Group Stonethrowers Rally in Tipperary.
Teaming up for the very first time in a Ford Fiesta, the newly formed partnership delivered a composed performance over slippery t stages to finish second in Class 2A.
The Class 2A victory on the day went to Oisin McShane and Niall Myers in a Peugeot 208 R2 while brother and sister Kaelin Foley and Molly Foley rounded out the class podium in third position.
By sticking to their pre-event strategy and bringing the car home in second place, Travers and Seaman secured the crucial points needed to clinch the Motorsport Ireland National Class 2A Championship title.
The national class title victory also earned Travers an official nomination for the Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Young Driver of the Year Award.
The successful outing marks an ideal debut for the new driver and co-driver partnership, laying a solid foundation as they look ahead to the 2027 motorsport season.
Speaking after securing the national crown, Seaman said:#

“It was a fantastic weekend in Tipperary and a great experience partnering with David for the first time. The conditions were tricky on the stages, but we stuck to our pace, managed the rally smart, and did what was required to bring home the national title and the Billy Coleman nomination. It is an ideal start for us as a crew moving into 2027.”
