O’Donoghue secures top-five finish on Tour of Mull debut
Killarney rally driver Colin O’Donoghue delivered a stand-out performance over the weekend, securing an impressive fifth-place overall finish on the iconic Tour of Mull Rally in Scotland.

Recognised as one of the most challenging tarmac events in world motorsport, the closed-road rally on the Scottish island takes place predominantly in the dark.
Having missed most of the 2026 season due to injury, O’Donoghue entered the event with minimal seat time, making his debut appearance all the more remarkable.
Driving his Ford Escort Mk2 alongside Donegal co-driver Evan MacBride, O’Donoghue ended Friday night’s opening 70-kilometre leg sitting in a brilliant third overall. An axle prop issue on stage 10 during Saturday afternoon cost the pair valuable time, dropping them down the order.
However, during Saturday night’s final leg into the early hours of Sunday morning in Tobermory, O’Donoghue mounted a fierce fightback to claim fifth overall against a field of local island experts.
