New base for 19th annual Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run

The 19th annual Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run takes place on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, with a new headquarters at Coolcower House, Macroom, County Cork.

The event has grown to be one of the largest Opel and Vauxhall gatherings in Ireland, with entries already confirmed from the local region and the Isle of Man.

Registration opens at 9:00am on Saturday morning at Coolcower House, with an entry fee of €20 per car. Each driver will receive a starter pack. The first award will be presented at 10:00am before the cars depart at 11:00am.

The 2026 route covers Mid West Cork, Muskerry, and the Gaeltacht Mhúscraí region.

The convoy will travel through Hartnett’s Cross, Toonsbridge, Inchigeela, Lough Allua, Pipe Hill, Carriganass Castle, Coomhola Bridge, and Ballylickey. A mid-way stop will be held at Cronin’s Centra and Service Station.

The return leg goes via Kealkill, the Coosane Gap, Coppeen, Boxers Cross, Kilmurray, and Lissarda, returning to Coolcower House for an evening barbecue and prizegiving.

Awards include the “Overall Car of the Day” title, sponsored by Opel Ireland. A raffle will also take place. The event is supported by Opel Ireland, Cartell.ie, and Casey Caravan Services.

All funds raised go to the Dogs for the Disabled charity, continuing a partnership that began in 2008.

The run is open to all Opel, Vauxhall, Bedford, and General Motors vehicles regardless of age. Spectators are welcome to view the cars at the start, along the route, or at the evening finish.
