New international classic car rally to visit Killarney in 2027
An international classic car event will visit Killarney next summer as part of a major new motorsport fixture. Organisers HERO-ERA have confirmed that the inaugural Celtic Malts rally will travel through the region between May 22 and May 28 next year

The event is open to pre-1991 classic vehicles and features an introductory competitive level. The entire route spans 2,655 kilometres, starting in Wales before heading west to Ireland for six days of driving. The itinerary is designed to combine motorsport competition with local hospitality, featuring an expected eight driving tests and 18 regularity sections along the course.
While the full, detailed route schedule has yet to be officially announced, the rally will bring a fleet of vintage and classic cars into Killarney during its week-long run. Organisers stated that the journey aims to blend a sporting challenge with the camaraderie of the classic car community, giving navigators and drivers time to experience the Irish landscape. Full route details and specific local stops are expected to be released by the organisers in the coming months.
