Birr Stages Rally Returns to Nenagh on 29th March 2026
The Birr Stages Rally will make a highly anticipated return on Sunday, 29th March 2026,
bringing top-class rallying back to the region in association with the Abbey Court Hotel,
Pat Horan Motors Ltd The Camper Centre of Ireland, and Slattery’s Garage Puckane Ltd, main

Peugeot & DS Automobiles Dealers.
After an absence of eight years, the event is delighted to be back in the Nenagh area, with
the Abbey Court Hotel once again serving as rally headquarters.
The 2026 event is set to be one of the most significant editions of the Birr Stages Rally in
recent years, as it will be a counting round of six major championships. These include the
Triton Showers National Rally Championship, the Sligo Pallets Border Rally Championship,
the Top Part West Coast Rally Championship, the Hugo Loonam Motors Midlands East Rally
Championship, the Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series, and the Dacia Sandero Challenge
Cup, ensuring a strong and competitive entry across all classes.
An experienced team has been appointed to oversee the running of the event, with John
Tynan taking on the role of Clerk of the Course, supported by David Forde as Deputy Clerk of
the Course. Associate sponsor Pat Horan will serve as Assistant Clerk of the Course,
renewing a long-standing and successful working relationship with Tynan that dates back to
their time running Forest Rallies together in the early 1990s.
Speaking about the rally’s return to Nenagh, Clerk of the Course John Tynan said:
“It’s fantastic to see the Birr Stages Rally back in the Nenagh area after eight years away. I’m
absolutely delighted to be working with Brian O’Neill and his team at the Abbey Court Hotel,
along with the continued support of Pat Horan Motors Ltd, The Camper Centre of Ireland,
and Slattery’s Garage Puckane, main Peugeot & DS Automobiles Dealers. Their backing,
experience and professionalism are vital to the success of the event, and we’re really looking
forward to delivering a top-class rally in 2026.”
