Kerry crews on Cork Forestry Rally

The Motorsport Ireland National Forestry Rally Championship resumes this weekend with the Mallow-based Cork Forestry Rally.

Several Kerry crews have entered the event.

They include Moyvane’s Mike Jnr O’Connor in his Opel  Manta and Knocknagoshel’s Colin Neligan in a Ford Fiesta.

The rally is a counting round of the Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series and siblings crew o Mossie and Megan Costello are the only all-Kerry crew registered for the series. They will drive their Ford Fiesta Rally 4 in Cork.

Cordal’s Denny Greaney will co-drive for Charleville’s Micheal O’Sullivan in a Ford Escort Mk2.

There are two Kerry crews in the Junior 1000 category for 14 to 17-year-old drivers.

Son and father crew Frank and Cyril Wharton will drive a Toyota Aygo while David Slattery Jr and  Ger Somers are entered in a Hyundai i10.
