Class win for Walsh at Kirkistown
Ardfert-based motorcycle racer Stephen Walsh scored a class win on his debut appearance on a Honda 500 Twin at Kirkistown on Saturday.
Walsh has been loaned the bike by British racer Jeff Smith for the Manx Grand Prix in August.
He needs to learn the new machine ahead of the second biggest bike race on the Isle of Man so he entered the latest round of the Ulster Superbike Championship at the County Down track on Saturday.
He duly rode it to a class win in the Classic 500 race.
“The bike is a beauty. I need to get the mechanics working a bit better but will try to get sorted for the next round in two weeks’ time,” said Walsh.
