Kerry competitors on Escort Rally Special in Belgium this weekend

Rob Duggan is the third seed for the Escort Rally Special in Belgium this weekend.
The rally, based at the Chimay Motor Racing Circuit is only open to driver of Ford Escorts of any description and organisers have attracted nearly 100 examples of the iconic rally car.
Duggan will be making his first attempt at the event and will be co-driven by John McCarthy and will use the same Ford Escort that he drove to victory on the Imokily Rally in July.
“I am looking forward to it. This is the first time rallying outside of Ireland in the Mk2. New man – John Mac – on the notes so should be good fun. Looking forward to something different and a different rally,” said Duggan.
Other Kerry interest in the event includes Mark Falvey and Ronald O’Riordan in a Ford Escort Mk1 and a co-driver Keith McCarthy who is alongside Hazel O’Callaghan. The O’Callaghan family from West Limerick are running three cars in the event. Hazel will be joined by her husband Ed and son Christopher in Belgium.
