The Ardfert man has secured an entry for the pre-TT Classic Road Races which take place between Friday and Sunday this weekend.
Walsh will race on the Junior Classic races, with practice on Friday night, qualifying on Saturday and racing on Sunday on the Billown closed road circuit which is situated in the south of the island and close to Ronaldsway International Airport.
He has also been accepted into the Manx Grand Prix in August, but that entry remains pending until he gets one more finisher’s signature on his race licence. The Grand Prix run over the famous Isle of Man TT course.
With that in mind, Walsh is not looking for results this weekend and will instead concentrate on securing the all-important signature.
“All my life I wanted to jump on a ferry and race on the Isle of Man,” he said ahead of his Wednesday sailing from Belfast.
Walsh praised the efforts of local motorcycle race mechanic Der Rahilly who was instrumental in getting his Honda CB350 to the Isle of Man.
“The technical regulations for the Isle of Man are a bit different to here and Der has given me a massive amount of time and help. I wouldn’t have managed without his help,” added Walsh.
