Kerry crews on the Manx National last weekend

Kerry Motor Club crew Mike Dowling and Stephen Buckley were unable to make the finish of the Manx National Rally after their Ford Escort Mk1 suffered a clutch hydraulic system failure.

“We had hydraulic clutch release problems after stage six, took out the gearbox and made a new release bearing but hydraulics were still leaking so out of the rally. Car and ourselves in one piece so sort it when I go home,” explained Mike.

Ciara Griffin from Duagh made her overseas rally debut at the event. She guided Northern Ireland’s Stephen Conn to a fifth-place finish in Class B in a Ford Fiesta.

Dublin-based Currow co-driver John McCann and his driver John Devlin failed to finish the event.
