Trophy winners from the Assess Ireland Rally of the Lakes

There were a lot of special awards given out at Assess Ireland Rally of the Lakes prizegiving last Sunday night.

Highest Placed Ladies Crew – Car No 163 Amy Burke/Emel Nadine (Ford Fiesta)

Sean Conlon Cup – Top Class 12 -Sean Moynihan and Padraig O’Donovoan
Who also won the Tom Nyhan Cup highest placed Cork crew

John Sweeney Memorial Cup – Best Kenmare/Kilgarvan driver
Brian Hickey Car No. 94 presented by KDMC chair Tommy Randles

Chloe Kelly won the Bridie Robert Award – top Female Competitor
Presented by Norma Lucey on behalf of Frank Roberts.

Gerard Horgan Memorial Trophy – for best junior went Darragh O’Donovan/Michael White


Duncan Williams/Guy Weaver won the Maurice O’Donoghue Perpetual Cup presented by Sheila O’Donoghue and Paul Nagle for winning the historic rally.

Gary Kiernan/John McGrath with the Jimmy Coakley Perpetual Cup


John McCarthy/Kieran O’Donoghue won both receiving Jason Barry Cup (highest placed Clas13) And the John Mullane Cup for best Co. Kerry Crew presented by Norma Lucey on behalf of John’s sister Sheila.

Bertie Fisher award – Fastest time over Moll’s Gap
Rob Duggan/Ger Conway (VW Polo GTi R5). 8m. 23.8s. Second run over the Gap.

Johnny Hickey Award
Top co-driver in the Modified category – John McGrath (Gary Kiernan’s co-driver. Presented by Charlie, Joan and Jennifer and children Conor, Alison and Laura Hickey.

Callum Devine/Noel O’Sullivan won the Toastal Cup presented by Dermot Healy and Conor Deasy while Noel receives the Timmy O’Sullivan Memorial Cup presented by his wife Eileen for the best placed KDMC co-driver

Liam Cronin, presented by Dermot Healy, won the Silver Wheel award
