Eddie Kennelly’s 30 years of rally draws to a close as he threatens retirement after Circuit of Kerry
The Top Part West Coast Championship is 30 years old this year.
Celebrations will begin on the April 2 Rose Hotel Circuit of Kerry.
One local Kerry driver has been there every step of the way but is now considering his home event will be his last as retirement looms.
Eddie Kennelly entered his first Circuit of Kerry in 1993
He missed a few between 2004 and 2007 as he took time out from the sport.
But he’s threatening retirement from the sport after this weekend’s rally and after 30 years behind the wheel.

We have bad news Eddie, this sport is a drug and Kerry Motorsport News lays a bet with you that you will be on the entry list again within two years.
In more good news for Eddie, he says Desmond’s Grave is his favourite stage in Kerry. If he gets to the end of the rally on Sunday, he will end his rally career on his favourite stage.
