No rallying in New Zeland for Moloney as event gets cancelled over flooding
Noel Moloney hopes of getting his 2023 New Zealand Rally season underway on Sunday were dashed after the event was cancelled.
The Duagh man had entered the Arcadia Road Rallysprint near Paparoa.
The event was organised by Hibiscus Coast Motorsport Club, which is based in Auckland’s North Shore.

It was due to take place in the same area that was damaged by the recent flash flooding in New Zealand.
The area got hit with another flash flood on the evening before the rally forcing organisers to postpone the event.
People have been left devasted by the effects of the flooding,
“My heart goes out to them and hope these people get back on their feet soon in these unprecedented times,” he said
Moloney is preparing for the New Zealand Rally Championship alongside Clinton Cunningham in a Skoda Fabia RC2 and Sunday’s rallysprint was supposed to be a shakedown for the season ahead.
