TOP PART WEST COAST RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP LAUNCHED.
The organisers of the Top Part West Coast Rally Championship announced details of the 30th anniversary of the regional rally championship.
Kerry Motor Club was one of the founding members of the championship and the 1993 Circuit of Kerry was the opening round.
Fittingly, the same rally will open the 2023 schedule on April 2.
Since its foundation the championship has been sponsored by the Tralee-based Top Part Motor Factor Group.
It is the longest serving motorsport sponsorship agreements in Irish motorsport.
The 2023 championship was launched at Limerick Racecourse on Saturday.
Speaking at the launch, Kerry Motor Club’s championship representative and championship founder, Tralee man, Richard Talbot said the committee have big plans to celebrate their third decade.
The 2023 championship awards do will take place in the Rose Hotel in Tralee next January and Mr Talbot that he hopes to have a commemorative booklet published by that time.
“It will include all the results and winners of the last 30 years and will given out, free, to all attending the awards night next year,” he said.
“Saturday’s event also marked the launch of 30 years of Sponsorship of the championship by the Top Part Group which has to be a first in motorsport in the world.”
