Triple Icelandic champion Gunnar Johannesson makes Irish rally debut in Galway
Iceland’s triple champion Gunnar Johanneson made his Irish rally debut in Galway
He has won the Icelandic championship for the last three years in succession driving a Mitsubishi Lancer.
His father Johanne is currently based in Sligo
The family spectated at the Galway International Rally last year and decided they had to comeback this year as competitors.
Driving a Citroen C2 R2 he is lying 64th overall and seventh in the competitive RC4 class in what is his tarmac rally debut.
More Irish rallies are planned this year in the Citroen.
