Gearoid O’Reagan is celebrating this week after learning he finished third overall in Hugo Loonam Motors Midlands East Rally Championship.

Despite not finishing the final round in Laois earlier this month he did enough to secure what he thought were class honours in the Midlands East Rally Championship.
However, when championship officials added up the final scores the Offally-based Ballyheuige man was promoted to third overall.
The Honda Civic driver was in his first full season of rallying.
“First full season with the car so pleased with the finishes and competing well in class 3,” he said. “With my work in Offaly and knowing Hugo Loonam it’s nice to win the class in his Midland Rally Championship. Huge thank you to my Kerry crew, spanner man Brendan Brosnan, navigators Tony McCarthy and Brian Martin”
Gearoid will now turn his attention to the Kerry Winter Rally on October 30.
