Robert Counihan is set to debut a newly acquired Class 13 Toyota Corolla on Garda Síochána Motor Club’s Germaine’s of Baltinglass Mini Stages Rally.
The Gneevguilla-based Plant and Agri contractor contested several local rallies in 2015 and 2016 in a 1600cc Corolla but took a break from the sport until last year’s Killarney Historic Rally.
He hired the JDK Ford Escort and that reactivated the bug. After buying the car in thr last few months he will be out for the first time on Sunday’s County Wicklow Rally.
Timmy Kelly from Killarney will co-drive.
